Photographic print mounted on wooden billboard, 250 x 125 cm (2026)

This project was produced and shown as part of the Summer Camp 2.1 residency : « a collaborative residency hosted by Stol Collective and Pharmakon through the French Institute in Romania, which aims to blur the lines between a traditional artist residency and a collective art practice. »
The photographic print combines the portrait of a Maria with a soap reproduction of a Romanian trinket depicting a porcelain dog, which was a common feature in homes during the Communist era.
This piece is part of a research project into forms of collective memory and the mechanisms by which it is passed on through household objects, whose meanings change over time and depending on the contexts in which they reappear.
By recreating this object in a soft, organic material that is prone to deformation, I draw a parallel between the processes of material transformation and those of memory: ever-changing, subjective, and continually reshaped by the stories and experiences that pass through it.
